Well its happened again. Following on Laura beating all the men when winning the Craughwell 10 a few weeks ago, Caitriona repeated the feat by winning the Harte Insurance 5k in Letterkenny Easter Sunday (17.18). Other great results over the weekend came from Alasdair who is returning back after a long layoff through injury and finished 2nd in Cleasathon 7k on Inish Oirir . At the Meath county 10k Championships Terry B was a podium finisher in 3rd place overall (36.06) . Over in Boston Peter G completed the Marathon in 3.13. Another victory came in the shape of Kieran M who won the Na Fianna 5k in 17.06 . Also running well in this race were Paraic O and Shane G.
Today we had the Battle of Clontarf 10 mile which also incorporated the Leinster Championship. Our first finisher in 5th place was Tom L (55.01) followed closely by Brian G in 6th ( 55.07) Brian also took gold in the O/40 section on the Leinster championships . Next up was Brian O’ in 10th place( 57.31 – 3rd O/35) and Colm in 13th ( 58.27 – 2 nd O/40) Alan K ( 64.40) and finally Maurice (66.42 – 5th O/50).
Finally, we are holding a run over leg 5 this Saturday morning for the guys doing the Wicklow Way Relay, It would be great if a few more could come along and join them. Let me know if your interested.
