Starting today’s report with a FOOTNOTE;

Recently I have unintentionally omitted the Ultra Runners from their escapades or put them at the bottom so today’s begins with the Highland Fling.This a 53 mile race thoroughout the highlands of Scotland. Its a race limited to 800 runners. Our group had 3 competitiors and all 3 performed remarkable well with all 3 inside the top100. First home was Robbie C in 32nd place (8hr 53 mins) followed by Brian K (46th – 9.04) and Tim C ( 87th- 9.48)

Back across the Irish sea Robbie on the previous Wednesday took part in the Howth IMRA and had an equally impressive race with a 7th place finish. Just ahead of him in 2nd place was Niall. Also running were Brian K 27th, Aidan B 29th, Alan H 34th and Ronan H 59th.

Over the weekend , we had a lot of impressive results to report. Begiining with the West of Ireland Mini Marathon in Castlebar Laura tasted victory again with a comfortable win in 35.40. This race along with most of the rest that I am reporting on were held in wet and windy conditions. At the Boyne 10k we had another victory this time Niamh winning in a time of 38.15. Also running was Alan K (39.57) and Adrian B ( 40.41). In Tallaght for the 5k Paul F was our first finisher in 5th place ( 1st O/40- 16.35) followed by Paddy L ( 15th – 16.55) Illona was 3rd female ( 18.54) with Barbara 4th ( 1st O/40 – 19.27). At the Leinster Masters Road race Phil finished 12th ( 20.17).

Finally over in Spain Brian O’ finished 44th overall in the European Masters Mountain Running Championships to help the Irish team to the silver medal.

That’s all folks!!!!
