Well done to all who took part in Satuday’s Irish Runner 5 mile in the Phoenix Park in what was very hot conditions . First home was Paul Fleming in 27.41 ( 5th -o/40) followed closely by Brian Ó Murchú in 27.52 (6 th 0/35 PB) and Laura Shaughnessy who won the women’s race in 27.53. Again we had three women in the top 10 with Ilona McElroy 6th ( 30.53) and Kiera Roche 10th (33.01). Other good runs came from Fergal Roche ( 29.13) Shane McAuley(29.34) Alasdair Brown (29.41) Paraic Shortall (31.13) Darragh McCarthy (32.00) and Sabrina Keogh (34.47).
At the Castleknock 5k yesterday Alan Bernie finished in a fine 5th place in 17.53.
