t was a bitter sweet report from Saturday’s KClub 10k. The sweet was the many fine performances from our large contingent, the bitter being the fact that course measured approximately 150 meters long. Even still the results were excellent with many PB’s achieved even allowing for the extra distance . Our first home and 2nd overall was Louis McCarthy 32.37 followed by Michael McMahon in 4th.32.55 Also finishing high up were Sean Fox 34.24, Paddy Lyons 34.34, Des Tremble 34.50. Paddy Walsh 35.18 Pb, Brian Ó Murchú35.21, Peter O’Toole 35.35 Pb, Ronan Kearns, 35.42. Linda Byrne winner of lady’s race 35.46 , Alan Bernie 36.00 Pb , William Byrne , Geoff Duff 36.35 Pb, Peter Barry 38.09 , Andrea Talpo 38.20 Pb, Adrian Black 39.22 John Phelan 39.19, Malika Hammani 40.15 Pb, Maurice McCrohan 40. 00, Robbie Brannigan 41.15 Johnny o Brien 43.07, Seán Ó Donnagáin 42.58Tomas Dunne 44.06, joe Corcoran 43.18 and Diane McNevin 49.50. Note the times are approx and include the extra distance. There was no results available when I left so I am running on memory from talking to the guys afterward.
In other results Kiera Roche won the Ballylffin Challenge in a new PB of 64.35 . Shane McAuley was also a winner with victory at the Na Fianna 5k Alasdair Brown was 2nd in the Cleasathon Race in Inishshere.
On Easter Sunday Ruth Fitzgerald made it a hat trick for the girls by winning the Easter Bunny Waterford AC 5 mile with a new PB to boot in a time of 29.16.
Today , Easter Monday, Clive Quinn in finishing 4th overall in the Clontarf 10 mile took gold in the O/40 Leinister Championship which was incorporated into this event . Clive finished in a time of 55.54.Next home was Phil Kilgannon in 58.35 (5th O/35) followed by Peter O Neill who took 2 and half minutes off his PB for 10th O/40 (60.15).
