Might be only 10 days to go to christmas but the results keep coming and exceptional ones to boot. Today was The National Novice cross country championships which were held in Cow Park, Dunboyne.Tom Lupton finished off an excellent year with a 2nd place finish only missing out on gold in the last 100m. James Kelly who has also had a ground breaking year had a fine run for 14th place with Colm Costelloe next in 30th. There was also excellent runs from the likes of Brian O’Mhurchu , Conor McCarthy , Peter O’Toole , Alasdair Brown and Des Tremble. .Unfortunately no official results yet to give their position.
To prove that class is permanent Rory O’Connor returned to the roads after a 9 month absence and produced a 14.32 pb and 2nd place for a 5k in Cork.
Peter Barry won the Rudolf Run 5k in aid of Down Syndrome in Marlay Park today.
Barbara Murray missed out winning the O/40 category in the Drogheda and District 5k by a mere second running 19.41 for 2nd place.
David Naylor finished 23rd in the Aware 10k in a time of 37.48. Leah Benson posted yet another pb for 4th female overall in 42.15.
Peter Doyle finshed 6th overall and 2nd M/50 in the East of Ireland Marathon
