I was at the Dublin Masters Cross Country yesterday in St Annes Park and we had a large contingent taking part. Des Kennedy had a magnificent run and finished 6th overall and won individual gold in the O/50 category. Close behind was Ian Conroy in 7th (5th O/35 – team gold) with Colm Costelloe continuing to post excellent results in 11th overall ( 2nd O/45) . Maura Ginty took bronze in the W/35 with Barbara Murray just missing out on a medal with 4th in the W/45.
On New Year’s day Paul Fleming started the new year with another victory in the Tom Brennan 5k with first in the O/40 category( 15.56) . Conor McCarthy was next (17.13 ) with Ed Hayes (17.29) .Ilona McElroy had a fine run winning the W/35 (18.00) . Conor Cleary knocked 45 seconds off his pb ( 18.56 – 4th O/45) Rob Brannigan (19.10) Sabrina Keogh (19.31) Maurice McCrohan (20.04) Pears Coyle (20.32) and Sean Donegan ( 21.43)
