Trained by Terry Mc Connon, we are a group of athletes from clubs and non clubs who train together at various lunch times and mornings over the weekend. Looking back 10 years ago, Terry was approached a few of the guys in Trinity to see if they would be interested if he took on board the coaching role for them. Little did he imagine that the 10 years later that the group would have evolved to the extent that it has with a 100 plus in the group. The group consist of runners from various ages and various levels who are all about achieving personal goals.
Many of our runners are affiliated to other running clubs but find the training schedule and times of TT Racers suits their lifestyle better. They run for their clubs at races and train with us during the week. Many others are in no club and don’t feel the need to be in one as we run many races together.
TT RACERS is a thriving and vibrant community of like-minded runners who come together in an informal way to train, race and socialise together. It’s proving very popular and in recent years the group has enjoyed considerable growth. As with any large group, it is important that everyone involved has a proper understanding of what the group is about and what is expected of them as group members. In March 2019, group founder Terry McConnon assembled a subgroup of members who defined the following declaration of intent to which we oblige all members to agree to follow. This is to ensure that everyone involved – be they recent recruits, veterans or future participants – have a safe and pleasant experience within group interactions, regardless of whether they take place in the real or digital world.
Declaration of Intent
We ask all our members to agree to to this declaration of intent.
TT RACERS mission is to allow each of our community of runners to run together and to support, inspire and respect each other to get the most from
our efforts. By being part of TT RACERS, I agree to reasonable and respectful behaviour towards all members of the group at all times. I understand that any behaviour deemed inappropriate, offensive, or which undermines the group’s members or activities will put my participation in TT Racers at risk. This conduct covers both online and offline behaviour.
TT RACERS reserves the right to take disciplinary action against any member who is disrespectful or otherwise. This disciplinary action, which may include removal from the group, will normally (but not necessarily) be done after consultation with a representative sub-group of members whom Terry may call together from time to time. I acknowledge that TT RACERS also reserves the right to refuse membership of the group to any person for any reason at their absolute discretion.
I agree not to use the group network to sell or promote my own individual causes. TT RACERS has a social media presence and to keep the content engaging and relevant to the group TT RACERS reserve the right to take posts down and block members from social media if necessary. I accept that TT RACERS also reserves the right to occasionally do a clear out of our membership list by removing members who haven’t attended or participated with the group for a period of time over 12 months. If you have not been with us for a while but are removed from the group and
want to be reinstated please email us. The success of TT RACERS over the last number of years is down to the ethos and group effort both at training and in races. I will respect this and
understand that it’s fundamental to the continued success of the group.
Finally, I agree that if I am running with the group during training, races or social runs that I do so at my own risk and that I am fit to do so.
