This week I am going to begin my report in Limerick. As you all know I get equal enjoyment and satisfaction from the performances from all the group. I am always delighted when I see huge improvement from those who work hard and put the effort in in training. This principle definitely applies to Conor C who since joining the group has trained consistently and improved accordingly in the last couple of years. On Sunday Conor finally broke the 3.30 barrier for the marathon with an 11 minute pb of 3.22. This is a fantastic achievement with more to come. Another guy who is making huge strides over the last couple of months is Damien who has got his PB down for 5k from over 25 minutes to his most recent 21.19 which he ran last Saturday in Poppintree.
Other great results over the last week came from Niall who won the Howth IMRA race on Wednesday beating a few quality athletes along the way. On Saturday Ronan K finished 4th overall 1st O/35 (16.20) in the Tallaght 5k with Conor Mc (2nd Novice / 16.58) Paul ( 1st O/40 / 17.22) and Jason ( 18.15). At the Highland Fling which is a 53 mile trail race in the Scottish Highlands , Brian was 93rd in 9.38 and Robbie C 144th in 10.18.At the Boyne 10k Niamh was 3rd female in 38.33 and Alan K was on the winning team running 38.52.
