First weekly report of the new year. Over the festive period we had a number racing in various races in the last week . The following are the results that I am aware of and have come across but I am sure that there are many more results that I missed.
On St Stephens / Boxing day we had a number of races. At the Fields of Athenry 10k Laura broke the course record to win in a time of 35.03. Also running in same race was Paraic S and he finished in a fine time of 39.11.Up in Greencastle and two days before her wedding Caitriona finished 2nd in the 5 mile on what looked like a very hill course in a time of 28.52.Back in Dublin Niall finished 3rd overall in the Famous Donore 10 mile handicap. Niall also had the fastest time on the day.
We had a victory in the Rosemont 5k which Fergal R won in a time of 17.48.At the Clonliffe Christmas Cracker 5k Ed H ran 17.52 and Maurice ran 19.58. At the Robbie Byrne 5k in Navan Kevin G was 4th overall in a time of 17.16 and Mary was 3rd overall and 1st O/45 in the womens in a time of 19.35. Finally today we had the Tom Brennan 5k and it was left to two of our elder statesmen to show the way with Pearse making a return to competitve action with 3rd O/50 ( 19.27) and Maurice 6th O/50 ( 20.21).
