On the racing front, Laura Shaughnessy and Linda Byrne returned to the roads since their exploits in the Mini Marathon and with great effect too. At the Celbridge 5k on Thursday Laura claimed victory with a new course record and a new PB in a time of 16.21. Linda was 2nd in 17.09. Maurice Neto was also running and finished in a time of 21.37.
We had another female victory , this time on Saturday in the Bull Run 4 mile race with Deirdre Byrne winning in a time of 23.21.
At the Sean Weldon 5k , Des Feeley ran 19.06 for 4th O/40 whilst Mark Cullinan ran 25.16 at the Nurney 5k. Over the same distance at the Pfizer 5k a great battle ensued between two TTracers with Eoin Kealy 8th( 18.29 ) just holding off Pearse Coyle 9th( 18.33 – 2nd O/50) .
Another great battle ensued at the Frank Duffy 10 mile this morning with our first finishers being seperated by 24 seconds. Ken Norgrove won out with 57.16 ( 2nd O/45) followed closely by Colm Costelloe (57.25 PB – 2nd O/40) Ronan Dunphy ( 57.35) and Phil Kilgannon ( 57.40 – 3rd O/40). Ed Hayes was our next finisher in 60 minutes flat with Shane McAuley ( 60.25 ) Peter O’Toole (63.42) Dan Delaney (64.11) Adrian Black ( 68.06) Eimear Fitzmaurice ( 69.02 – 10th female ) Maurice McCrohan ( 69.31) Sean Donegan (70.02) Alan Hughes ( 70.09) Fergal O’Shea (71.54 ). Note all the above are gun times so their actual times might be a bit quicker.
At the Dingle Half Marathon Niall Lynch was 5th overall ( 79.09 and 1st O/45) .
