Yet another great week on the racing front with a number of fine performances. One of the big performances came from Brian K who finished 3rd in the Kerry Ultra. This is a 200k race and is over main different types of terrain and also run through the night so for Brian to get a podium finish is a magnificent achievement.
On thursday night another great performance came from Ronan D when he won the Portmarnock 10k ( a race mainly run on the beach) in a time of 36.42. Also running were Aidan Mc ( 21st – 41.57) and Gavin P (27th – 43.25).
At the Dingle Half Marathon we had another podium finish from Niall with 3rd place in 75.09.Kerry was certainly the place to be at the weekend as we had a number doing the Lost Sheep Triathlon with Brendan our first home in 8th place. (80.15 for the half marathon run) followed by James (14th – 88.42) Kevin (24th – 89.18) Sean Mc (25th 93.17) and Rob Mc (39th – 98.53)
Definitely not to be outdone were the performances achieved at the Lakes 10k. Rory returned to action with a 3rd place finish and a PB to boot (33.15) with Laura continuing her impressive form with another victory and another PB (35.05). Niamh also made the podium with 3rd (38.02) and Kiera broke 40 minutes for the first time (39.51 – PB) . Other good performances came from Phillip N (36.53) Shane Mc (36.53) Ed ( 36.55) Eoin (38.47) Caoimhin (39.22)Alan K (40.06) Brian B (40.41) Barbara (41.25) Damien (44.48) Philip F (44.53) Des (48.28) and Diane ( 49.01)
