Sorry for delay in sending but was waiting for results of this mornings DLR Bay 10k where we had a handful of runners competing. Our first home in 9th place was Phil Kilgannon in a time of 35.37 followed closely by Brian O Mhurchu in 12th in 35.55. Our other competitors were Shane Desmond (40.22) Tim Chapman (41.58) and Ian Martin (42.46). At the Duleek 10k Adrian Black ran 39.40 which is just a few seconds off his recent pb in Fingal.
At the European Masters athletics in Denmark we had two 12th placed finishes from our guys in their respective finals Ronan Kearns (0/35 800m – 2.06 / 2.4.80 in heat) and Peter O’Sullivan ( O/40 1500m / 4.15 in both heat and final). Ronan also ran the half marsathon yesterday in 1 hour 22.
On the hills Niall Lynch was 3rd overall in Devils Glen with Aidan Blake 26th and Jack Drea 47th. It was nearly a report without a victory until Des Kennedy duly obliged by winning The Paps hill race in County Kerry yesterday.
Note : Its very handy when I searching for results that the guys putt TT Racers against their name. So if its possible for everyone to do so going forward that would be great. I know its not possible for championship races where you are representing your club or BHAA where you runnning for your employer but where you can it would be great . Also it will help in bringing up the profile of the group.
Finally , I normally select a couple of races a year for the group to get out in force . Earlier in the year we had the K Club 10k where we had a copious amount of PB’s. On September 10th is the Lakes 10k in Blessington. We usually get a good representation at this , so lets make it a even bigger number this year.
