Yet another great weekend on the competition front. Prior to that on Wednesday we had our usual crew competing in the IMRA Hill race on Carrick Mountain and Niall set a prescedant of what was to come by taking victory with Caoimhin in 10th place , Robbie C 12th , Aidan 35th and Ronan 72nd. The next victory came in the shape of Laura who won the RTE 5 Mile in a very impressive time of 27.11(PB) . Laura not only won but finished 3rd overall beating some of our leading guys in the process. In 4th overall (3rd Male ) was Sean F ( 27.16 PB) followed closely by Paul F ( 1st O/40 – 27..19) and Brian O (27.32 PB). Niamh D was 2nd female (29.52) , next up was Paraic S (30.22 PB) and Ilona ( 3rd female 31.00) , Malika ( 2nd O/35 – 32.22 PB) . Also making a return to action was Eileen.
Don’t normally mention the parkruns but in this case I will make an exception. Eoin O’ who normally does his sessions in group 4 or 5 took part in his 100th parkrun over in Swords and he capped it off with his first ever victory in the event.
Yesterday the victories continued to flow with Brian B winning the Padraig Pearse 5k (18.35) and Jean also took victory by winning the Female race (20.04). To roiund off the weekend ,Rory O’ won the Beweeng 5k in Cork in an excellent time of 15.32 .
So overall , a magnificent weekend on the competition front. Well done to you all
