Just in case you were not aware PB stands for personal best performance from a runner over the distance that they ran. Reason I say this is look at this week’s report and look at the number of times there is a PB against the name. Quite remarkable I must say.
Yesterday was the Dublin City Council 10k in Raheny . Our first home was Fergal Whitty in 5th place and also 1st O/40 ( 34.30 ) followed by Ed Hayes (8th – 35.32 PB)
Adrian Black (19th – 39.19 PB) Alan Jones (22nd – 39.46 PB) Maurice McCrohan ( 23rd – 39.50) Johnny O’Brien (25th – 40.34 PB) and Ronan Fennell ( 42nd – 42.56 PB) . Ronan hadn’t broke 45 minutes prior to this so thats a big performance from him.
Over in Spain at the Los Alcaves 10k , Ian Martin ran 41.28 and yes another PB.
The girls keep winning races, this time it was Jean Wilson’s turn at the Doandea 5k (20.35) . In the same race Aloan Bernie was 3rd overall (17.50).
At the Maurice Mullins trail race run over 25k we had two second places with Des Kennedy in the men’s and Liz Wheeler in the women’s race.At the Ultra event which is over 50k Tim Chapman was 32nd overall.
Today Tom Lupton finished 6th in the Irish mountain running trial in Slivenamon.
On the Marathon front we had 4 competitors and yes a few more PB’s . Robbie Costelloe ( 2.58:59 PB) Brian Kitson (3:05 PB) and Alan Hughes (3.27) competed in Paris whilst in Rotterdam Eimear Fitzmaurice ran 3.18 (PB).
