Medals galore at today’s Leinister Intermediate / Masters championships which were held in Gowran, Kilkenny today. In the womens race managed the full set with individual bronze, club silver and county gold. Barbara Murray just missed out with 6th place in the O/45 section.
In the mens equivalent Tom Lupton took individual bronze (O/35) and county silver with Des Kennedy following up his individual gold ( O/50) in last weeks Dublin Masters with a similar result today as well as club silver. Ian Conroy ( 6th – O/35) took club silver, Paul Fleming (8th – O/40) took club gold and Brian O’Mhurchu ( 10th – O40) club bronze.
In the Intermediate race James finished in 3rd place for bronze and also took county gold with Colm Costelloe 7th in the individual race and county silver.. Graham O’Dwyer finished 22nd and Conor Keating 27th.
We had a large contingent at yesterday’s BOI Bhaa cross country which was held at a very blustery Tymon Park. Michael MacMahon was our first finisher in 8th followed by newcomer Neilus Healy (17th) with Derek Taylor ( 20th – 2nd O/40) Mark O’Connor ( 22nd – 3rd O/40) Conor McCarthy (27th) Paul Dunne (30th) Ed Hayes (31st) Peter Barry (36th) Niall Fox ( 38th ) Paraic Shortall ( 41st ) David Naylor (56th) Pearse Coyle ( 59th – 3rd O/50) Chris Bigley (65th) Rob Brannigan (74th) Conor Daly (109th) and Stehane Crousat ( 113rd)
In the womens race it was great to see Niamh Devlin return to competive action after a long absence with 2nd place overall ( 1st /O 35) and Diane McNevin finsihed 5th in the O /40 category.
