The weekend began with a great night at the Annual Awards night held in the Trinity Pavillion. We had a great turn out and It looked like everyone had a great time. A few of the those in attendance still manage to turnout at the
Irish Life BHAA cross country in Santry the following morning. In a combined race Ronan Kearns was our first home in 4th place and only missing a place on the podium by the nearest of margins. Ronan was followed home by Paul Fleming in 9th place (3rd O/40) Brian Byrne ( 19th) Brian O Mhurchu (22nd) Linda Byrne 25th). Linda had an emphatic victory in the women’s race winning by over 80 seconds from Caroline Crowley in 2nd place. Our next finisher after Caroline was Robbie Costello in 51st place , Barry Finn (55th) Gavin Purtill (78th ) Joe Corcoran ( 90th) and Tomas Dunne (97th).
Up in Derry Niall Lynch was 11th and 3rd scorer on the Irish Silver medal winning team at the Home International Masters cross country .
Also on Saturday was the Annagassan 10k with Terry Brady finishing 5th in a time of 35.19 and Adrian Black showing no ill effects from the night before ran 39.38.
Today at the Gingerbread 10k in Portarlington David Weir finished 9th overall and 3rd O/40 in a time of 39.41. While at the Glendalough Trail race Liz Wheeler was 4th overall and 1st O/40..
