Not too many races to report on over the last week that I am aware of. On Wednesday Des Kennedy had another impressive victory, this time in the Downshill Imra race with Jack Drea finishing 43rd and Aidan Blake 64th. The same evening Kieran Murray followed up his fine pb from the Rock & Roll Half with another impressive showing in the Castlepollard 5k with a 16.51 run.
Dont usually report on the parkruns as I normally see them as a substitute for the tempo runs but when you are over 50 and you happen to achieve overall victory in one , I think you should get a mention, so well done to Pearse Coyle on his victory in the Kilrush Parkrun. At the Ironman 70.3 today Sean Barry was 43rd overall and 6th O/40 with a 1.23 half marathon run after the swim and 90k cycle ( 4.23 overall time) Shane Desmond ran 1.45 for the half (5.26 overall)
