The hardy few braved the elements to compete in the Frank Duffy 10 mile in the Phoenix Park on Saturday morning. Our first runner home and amazingly in a new PB was Paul G who post 59.33 and 3rd place in the o/40 category. Caitriona wasn’t far behind to finish 6th lady (60.30) and also won the Dublin 10 mile Championship. Niamh finished 2nd in the Dublin Championship and 11th lady overall (65.49). Our other two girls also had fine races and weren’t far behind Niamh with Fiona running 66.27 and Kiera smashing her PB by 22 minutes with 66.31.Other good results came from Alan Be(63.56) Dave O’ ( 66.56 -PB) John C (67,21) Chris (67.58) Cosmio (68.20 PB) Darragh (68.50 PB)Paraic (70,21 PB) Tomas ( 71.12) Robbie C ( 71.17) Shane Ca( 71.32 PB) and Julia (75.51 – 5th O/45).
Caitriona on a visit back home to celebrate her sister Sinead success at the Rio olympics decided to do the Donegal Marathon as part of her Sunday run and duly won it in 2.53 .Caitriona actually finished 3rd overall and for good measure Sinead won the half marathon.
A couple of results which I have overlooked to mention over the last while come from Shane Cooney who has moved to Cork but continues to run away. He recently posted PB’s over 5k ( 16.58) and 10k (35.12) in Youghal which is great to see.
