Big week coming up with the Dublin Marathon being held and a large number from the group competing.I am sure the guys would appreciate your support on the day.
Today we had the Autumn cross country which also incorporated the Masters trial for the upcoming Home internationals. Pride of place must go to Niall Lynch who showed no ill effects from last sundays Amsterdam Marathon by finishing in 3rd place in O/45 category and guaranteeing selection on the Irish team. This will be Niall’s 4th year from the last 5 when he has gained selection. Other results from the trials were Ian Conroy ( 6th . O/35) Clive Quinn ( 11th, O/35) Paul Fleming (23rd ,O/40) and in the women’s Niamh Boland ( 8th , O/35) and Julia Hackett (12th , O/45)
Elsewhere , Linda Byrne continued her comeback with another victory .This time winning the Longwood 10k in 37.18. Alasdair Brown finished 3rd in the Sallins 10k.His time was 35.30 but Alasdair , showing great honesty, reckons the course was slightly short.
