Begining the report in Bettystown on Tuesday with Niamh Devlin recording her second victory in 3 days with a 29.26 showing over the 5 mile distance. Niamh also broke our own Sonya McConnon’s course record for good measure. In 3rd place in the same race was Leona O’Reilly in a time of 31.34 with Alan King representing tne men with a 31.03 run.
On Thursday Fergal Roche was 9th ( 22.34) with Ronan Hickey 26th (24.24 PB) at the Liberities 6k. On the track at the National Track & Field Rory O’Connor just miseed out on a place in the final of the 1500m with a 4.02 run. Over the same distance at the graded meeting on Wednesday Peter O’Sullivan ran 4.19 for 2nd place in his race and Pearse Coyle ran 5.01.
Today at the Fingal 10k Niamh Devlin continued her fine recent form with 2nd place in an excellent time of 36.47. Kiera Roche ran her 2nd PB in a week for 7th place in 39.18. New recruit to the group Sabrina Keogh also had a fine run with 42.08 (pb ?)Our men who competed also had fine runs with a number of pb’s amongst them. Tom Lupton was our first home in 9th place ( 33.07 PB) followed by James Hoare (34.33) Colm Costelloe (35.07 PB) Alan Bernie (36.47 PB) Daragh MaCarthy ( 40 minutes – cant find result) Cosmio ( 40.09 PB by over 2 minutes) Conor Cleary (41.48) Tomas Dunne (41.51) and Peter Lantry ( 45.37)
