A variety of races from around the country to report on this week. Over in Strandhill , Sligo there was the Warriors race run over 15k .We had a victory in the female race with Deirdre Byrne winning out. In the Mens race Des Kennedy returned to competitve action with a fine 5th place.
In the midlands there was the Tullamore half marathon . Our first home in 11th place was Paddy Lyons ( 74.09) followed closely by Sean Fox ( 74.49 – 3rd O/40) , Shane McAuley ( 79.48) Alasdair Brown (81.37 PB) Kieran Murphy ( 84.48 – 3rd O/50) Ken McKeown ( 87.09) Johnny O’Brien (88.27 PB) and Robbie Brannigan ( 94.36 PB) .
Down in the south east Brian O’Shaughnessy was 4th in the Oylegate 10k ( 37.15) whilst back in Dublin Gavin Purtill ran a PB in the Portmarnock 5 mile (34.15)
