Have to say I never thought there would so many races in one weekend to report on. So I begin with a race from last weekend, when there was no results published when I did last weeks report , at the Streets of Dublin 5k with Maurice McCrohan running 19.38.
This was followed up on Tuesday evening wit the Bob Heffernan 5k . Our first home in a new PB and 3rd O/40 was Sean Fox in a time of 16.15. Sean was followed home by Fergal Whitty (16.34) Ken Norgrove (16.53) Will Byrne ( 17.08) Tom Feeley (17.23) Barry Aherne (18.12)Jason Harte (18.25) Ken Mc Keown ( 18.20 PB) Rob Brannigan (19.51) and Joe Corcoran (20.13).
The following night we had the Glasmullen IMRA race with our first finisher being Robbie Costelloe (15th) followed by Tim Chapman ( 24th) Caoimhin MacMaolain (31st) Ollie McGrath ( 49th) Eimear Fitzmaurice ( 58th and 4th Female) and Dermot Brosnan (94th).
At the Calcutta Run over 10.3k ( weird distance) we had victory in both the mens and womens races with Louis McCarthy ( 33.12 ) winning the men’s and Kiera Roche ( 41.26) taking victory in the women’s.
Sean Fox followed up his PB from earlier in the week by winning the Windmill 5k ( 19.20) with Sabrina Keogh posting second female in the 10k (43.09) with John Kirwan running ( 43.01) in the same race. John also ran 18.42 in the Deadman’s Dash 5k over the weekend.
Evergreen Maurice McCrohan followed up his run the Streets of Dublin 5k with a second place finish at the Double D4 5k in a time of 20.36. Replicating Maurice with a 2nd place finish after also competing earlier in the week was Will Byrne with his run in the As I am 5k in a time of 18.07.
Adrian Black posted a PB in the Newry Half Marathon in a time of 1:29.24 whilst over in Scotland Alasdair Brown ran 38.12 in the Edinburgh 10k..
Finally , and by no mean least , we had another victory in the guise of Shane McAuley when he won the D7 7k ( another weird distance) in a time of 25.47.
