Delighted to start this weeks race report with the victory of my wife Sonya on winning the trial for the selection of the Irish team at the upcoming European Hill running championship which is to be held in Italy in early July. It was a very strong and determined performance from Sonya which she dominated from start to finish.
Another great victory form the girls came from Laura who won the European Clubs 3000m steeplechase which were held in Portugal on Saturday.Not to out done Niamh won the Parkrun in Marlay saturday morning (18.29)
In other news Fergal R finished 8th overall ( 1st O/40) in the BHAA Beach race in Sandymount on Tuesday . Also competing were Peter G ( 17th – 2nd O/45) and Andy D (53rd). Ken ran 17.27 in the Edenderry 5k Friday evening. Other parkrun results to hand are Pearse ( San Francisco 5th – 20.47) Ed ( Marlay – 4th 18.08) and Alasdair (Portestown 2nd – 18.25)
