Just back from a magnificent occasion at the World Mountain Running championships where our two representatives performed exceptionally well. Sonya McConnon was 36th overall in the womens race and Ian Conroy finished 50th in the mens equivilent.Meanwhile at the European Masters Track & Field Peter O’Sullivan finished 12th in the 1500m and Ronan Kearns 9th in Cross Country.
Back on home soil Brian O’Mhurchu was 8th in the Carton House 6k trail race on Thursday. At the Lug na coille Imra race Tom Lupton was 4th . Niamh Devlin maintained her recent form with another victory at the Clogherhead 10k in a time of 37.44 while Adrian Black ran 40.25 in same race. Paul Fleming was 3rd overall in the Dublin Fire Brigade 5k with Fergal Roche 5th . Ilona McIlroy won the womens race.
