Post marathon , there is only a few results to report but still excellent results nonetheless. We actually have a couple of results from the Dublin Marathon which I missed with the initial report. We had two more sub 3 performances with Mark Yeates running 2.56:37 and Matthew Blyth also breaking the 3 hour mark with 2.59:15. Newcomer to the group Emanuele Le Rocca ran a 9 minute pb with 3.49:16.
Another great marathon performance came from Peter O’Neill in New York and yes another sub 3 hour run and new PB with 2.56:28. It will be interesting to add up at the end of the year how many sub 3 performances we had from the group from the various marathons this year. Definitely has to be a record.
On the cross country front last week was the county championships with James Kelly finishing 4th in the Kilkenny champs whilst in Santry at the Dublin’s Paul Stephenson was 12th, Niall Lynch 27th, Des Kennedy 29th, Paul Fleming 37th, Phil Kilgannon 43rd, Conor McCarthy 49th and Conor Keating 55th.
Today the guys moved on to the Leinster equivilent with Tom Lupton finishing 9th and James Kelly also making the top 10 in 10th. Evergreen Paul Fleming helped his club to another team gold with a fine 20th place and Conor Keating finished in 45th.
