We had a great turn out at today’s Dublin Masters cross country at a chilly St Anne’s Park. The numbers were incredible with almost 300 in the men and over 150 in the women’s. In the men’s race we had 7 finishers in the top 20 and a good number of great performances after that as well. Ian Conroyfinished in 2nd place overall and won team gold . Next was Des Kennedy 7th overall and 1st o/45 and also team gold . Following Des was Paul Fleming in 12th ( 2nd o/40 and Team silver) Niall Lynch ( 15th – 3rd o /45 and team bronze) Ronan Kearns (16th – Team Silver) Peter OToole (17th) . This was huge step up in performance from Peter. Colm Costello ( 20th -5th o 40) Phil Kilgannon (25th) Andy Nason ( 33rd) Kieran Murphy 2nd o /50) only beaten by the width of a vest for gold by none only Mick Traynor. Pearse Coyle (8th o/50) Alan king ( 42nd o/40) and Mick Michael Gygax ( 12th O:55)
In the women’s Niamh Boland was 1st o/35 and second overall with Florence Curley 10th o/40 and Julia Hackett 6th o45.
A quick mention for Clive Quinn who won the Wicklow equivalent with Robbie Robert Costello and Caoimhín MacMaoláin also competing.
