Another big report this week with a copious amount of success and PB’s in the various events.I begin my report with what turned out to be a great day at RTE.5 Miler. As usual still awaiting official results. Niamh continued her fine recent form with victory in the Women’s race (30.10). Niamh was followed closely home by Sonya in 2nd place (30.17) .This was a good run from Sonya considering it was her first race in quite awhile. Also in the women’s Julia had a fantastic run with what might be a top ten finish and a PB to boot. In the men’s Ronan K improved by almost a minute on last year with 5th place ( 26.57). Next home was Colm o’ in 11th ( 27.58). This was also Colm’ s first race in quite sometime. Fergal R was next in 29.02 followed by Peter B who ran a big PB by over 40 seconds (30.04). Other Pb’s came from Paraic S who not only broke 34 minutes but broke 33 as well (32.38 approx) and Damien (37.10). Others who competed and who ran well we’re Peter O (31.15) and Tomas (34 minutes).
Also on Saturday Rob K ran another PB over 5k in Shangnagh Parkrun with 19.18.On the Wednesday we had 3 competitors at the IMRA race in Carrick with Niall 2nd,Caoimhin 19th and Robbie 25th.
Finally yesterday we had even more success and other fine runs. At the Padraig Pearse 5k in Rathfarnham Linda was victorious in 19.12 with Caoimhin running 19.28 for 8th. At the Wings for Life Caitriona won the UK leg in Cambridge running 55.08k which placed her 8th female worldwide. In the Dublin event Conor P ran 27.45 km and Diane ran 16.98km for 101st place.
I am hoping to earmark the Govt. Services 10k in Dunboyne on Tuesday 31st May as the next race where we can get the group out in force. So pencil it in to your diaries and hopefully we have a large number in attendance from TTRacers.
