We had a photo finish today for the overall win with two of our athletes at the IMRA Oughaval Woods race in Stradbally , County Laois. Victory went to Michael McMahon who held on despite Tom Lupton making one of his infamous dives at the finish line. This definitely augurs well for later in the season when we compete for yet another victory in the Wicklow Way Relay. If it continues , it will make selection even more difficult , but a nice problem. All we need now is for our girls to try out on hills in the coming weeks.
Yesterday we had great success from the small number who took part in the Alsa Bhaa Cross Country. Our first finisher in 4th place was Fergal Whitty , who also won the O/40 category. He was followed home by Ronan Kearns in 5th place ( 2nd O/40) Des Tremble won the O/45 category for his 9th place finish with Alasdair Brown 12th, Padraic Shortall 25th and Andy Davies 55th and 5th O/55.
