Weather continues to cause havoc with training and on the racing front over the weekend. However we still managed a few excellent results all the same . On Saturday we had a smaller than usual number competing at the ALSA Cross Country with Paraic Shortall having his best run in sometime with a 15th place finish. Paraic was followed closely home by Ed Hayes in 18th with David O’Brien 28th, David Naylor 31st , Maurice McCrohan 56th and David Grogan 59th.
We had a couple of victories yesterday. Tom Lupton and Sonya McConnon won the men’s and women’s sections respectively at the Oughaval Woods Imra race in Stradbally.
Another victory came from Des Kennedy when he won the Saarsbrucken Half Marathon in Germany in a time of 73.21.
Alasdair Brown ran 81.46 for the Barcelona Half.
Finally well done to Conor Kinane who helped his club to team silver at the Kildare Intermediate Road Race Championships run over 6k where he finished 17th in a time of 21.04
