We had two of our guys representing their club (Raheny Shamrocks) at the European clubs cross country in Portugal and both performed very admirably indeed with Michael McMahon finishing in 72nd and Des Kennedy not too far behind in 80th place.
Yesterday was the Garda Bhaa cross country in the Phoenix Park . In the women’s two mile Linda Byrne finished in 2nd place. In the mens 4 mile race Geoff Duff was our first finisher in 13th followed by Alan Bernie 20th, Paraic Shortall 26th, Eoin Kealy 29th and Tomas Dunne 62nd.
Today there was a couple of 10 mile races . Down in Dungavan Fergal Whitty was 3rd O/40 in 55.28.Laura Shaughnessy was 2nd female in 58.54. Whilst over in Trim Ken Norgrove was our first finisher in 56.10 ( 3rd /045 ) followed by Brian O’Mhurchu ( 57.04 – 4th O/40 PB) James Hoare (58.42) Robbie Costelloe ( 60.18) Shane McAuley ( 60.30 ) Luis Arcanjo ( 61.08 PB ) . Niamh Devlin was our first female in 4th (63.18 ) with Sabrina Keogh ( 66.10 PB) and Kate O’Mahony (85.25)
